Anyone have any experiences with duracoating or dipping a barrel? Bought a used DPMS Mini SASS barrel which I love, but it does have some scratches visable scratches. Was thinking i may duracoat it black and be done with it.

If you're only trying to cover some scratches with black, it'll be a whole lot cheaper to get a can of high-temp stove/grill paint from Lowes/HD. Maybe not quite as durable, but easy to touch up as needed.

I've used high temp grill paint before, but it scratches off. You may be able to use a Birchwood Casey touch up pen.
I've used it on small scratches of stainless barrel without any problems.

Well, theyre not exactly "small" I guess you could say. Very noticeable considering only 3-4" are shown past the rail. I was also considering duracoating the flash hider because it and the barrel are 2 different colors/shades.

You would be further ahead to use the Lauer Duraheat than the Duracoat, the Duraheat is far better if you intend to have fun and fire off a bunch of rounds and get the barrel real hot. The Duraheat doesnt require a post cure and is a single component coating.
