Not sure best palce to post this, so I will give it a shot here.  Friend gave me a Savage 99 in .300 Savage a while ago.  It shows a lot of honest use--i.e,, it was a working rifle, was rode hard, and put away wet.  It sports a Waever 4X Alaskan(I am pretty sure).  It has two spots of rust I just can't seem to get ahead of.  Does this scope have ANY collectors value, does the rifle have any collector's value, or should I go ahead, and refinsh the scope, wood, and metal?

The 4x power Weaver Alaskan does have some popularity with CMP shooters since it is approved for vintage sniper rifle competitions. Some have sold on E-bay for close to a hundred bucks.
