This is totally new to me, advice/suggestions would be appreciated. A long time friend is retired E9 USMC (Senior Master Gunnery Sergeant) and he asked if i could find him a pump shotgun for HD. He carried one in Iraq and Africa. I located a well used 1980 Mossberg 500 , 28" barrel, for $150. It has wood furniture in good condition. Replaced a few parts, got it working well and had barrel shortened to 20". It has a worn bluing plus some significant wear on the loading port. Now i want to put a finish on it making it as close as I can to an USMC shotgun. What coating would be best for this? Its going to be a present so I want to make it as original appearing as I can.

Thanks
