Undecided about straw vs sponge, but the one question is I see some rifles done 100% in camo and some not - like the dust cover, sights, etc on ARs remain black.

Is there a reason for this or just a personal preference?

Thanks in advance

Seems like half a job to me - I'm gonna paint - I want it all painted.

I've seen some that look good.  I'm more of a rattlecan guy myself though.

Before you make the leap, I suggest practicing.  You can use anything, nerf gun, wood, etc.  I use one of those hard blue rubber M4's....I've found it helps solidify what I'm trying to achieve.
