Any one here recommended anyone to ionbond a barrel?

I ordered a bare SS barrel and sent it in yesterday to Springer Precision. The lead time is 5-6 weeks. I'll update once I get the barrel back.

According to UPS, my barrel arrived this afternoon to Springer Precision. Now I wait 5-6 weeks.

So its been about 6-1/2 weeks, still no barrel. I emailed Springer Precision, they said that ionbond is running really behind and they cant give me a delivery date.

Nothing yet. Tomorrow will be 10 weeks.

ETA:

Back in Early May when I was trying to decide on a barrel for my build I decided I wanted a BCM SS410 16" but I wanted a black barrel. I emailed Bravo on when they will be getting the ionbonded version back in-stock they said late summer, so i figured August or so. Springer Precision quoted 5-6 weeks to have ionbond coat the barrel. So I figured I'd have it early-mid July. I figured the month early was worth the extra $5.00. (bravo gets $360 for ionbonded barrel. the plain is $300+$65 for ionbond) I am set up on bravo's email alerts, so when the barrel comes back in stock I will know. They haven't got theirs in either yet.

I received an empty box today

A fedex box was delivered today from Springer Precision, there was a hole in the side of the box that had been taped over. All that was in the box was a invoice.

Really sorry to hear that...

I am sure Fedex will make it right, or at least I hope they do, but still doesn't make up for the time invested...

FedEx can't find it, so Springer Precision said they are writing me a check.

When all the dust settles, I will keep you guys up to date. At the end of they day I want a BCM 16" SS410 ionbonded barrel for my new AR. I decided that back in mid-May.

Springer Precision came through with a check for the barrel and a refund for ionbonding

Bravo ended up getting the ionbonded SS410 back in stock so i ordered one

the ionbond is a very nice finish!

Was looking at doing the same thing to a SS barrel from BCM. Is BCMs finish matte or satin? I was going to put in my work order to springer precision for matte but was curious what finish BCM uses.

I haven't seen the satin to compare it to. but the BCM coating was matte enough for my liking

I didn't bother to ask. If I can get my barrel back in about 3 months I would be good with it. No hurry for me.
