I had a buddy contact me today about doing a custom paint job on his AK for a winter pattern. I did this in about 5 mins on a spare AK magazines to see how I liked the snake skin pattern. I'm thinking I want to dust this pattern lightly with another color to break up the sharp lines. Any idea what a good 3rd color would be?

I only spent about 10 minutes in total on this so it is a very quick R&D session for the pattern before we cut stencils and lay them over the entire gun.

I didn't want to spend the entire night weeding a full size stencil so for R&D purpose I kept it small at 4"x4".

Here's the stencil laid on the mag section.

Final pic. I had a blurry part or two on the magazine from where I went a bit too quick but like I said this is R&D so it didn't really matter.

Too much white and too distinct of a pattern. You could just lay some expanded metal down and do the same job.

Here is my URBAN/Winter camo

I'm thinking of trying a digital camo. Maybe I'll give it a shot in the morning and see how it goes.

Anyone have pics of a flectarn camo job?

You could try Finland's snow pattern.

I was going to say the sponge camo in winter would be pretty sweet. Hummm...now, I'm thinking...
