No.

Duracoat works best on a parkerized surface.  At least that has been my experience.

What about over bare aluminum.....?????

Duracoat is supposed to work well over anodized aluminum.  I suspect it would work well over a roughened aluminum surface, but I have no experience with this.

Aluminum oxide 120 grit should make for a good surface for Duracoat.

I guess I need to know, I bought a Colt New Agent recently.  Sooner or later, it will have to be re-finished.
