My first Duracoat project is my 700 SPS Tac,  I did the barreled action/bolt handle in Tactical OD Green last week.  Yesterday I did my new base, rings and bipod in the same color with the same ratio of 12:1.  The items i did last night came out slightly different in color....looking a bit more like Dark Earth than OD Green, and has a powder like look and feel.

Any ideas why this would have happened?

Thanks in advance

The couple of times I've had that happen it turned out to be too much hardener. Same thing as you
I measured it the same way as the previous batch but it came out very "rough".

I will keep that in mind. Painting a new stock for it tonight, maybe ill go a little easier on the hardener.  Thanks

Was the air pressure the same both times?  When I did my rifle, the scope came out with a "dusted" look.  It was due to me having the air pressure too high.

This is why I do one entire color at a session and make sure I mix enough to cover what I need.  Mixing up two batches of the same color for use on the same weapon, IMHO, creates an opportunity for error that I'd rather avoid.  Normally, you can get away with it...but once in a while, it can burn ya.
