I have quite a few rifles and parts that need to be refinished so I'm looking for a quality setup to do some finish work with. What setup would you recommend I purchase to refinish rifles with? Would I need anything other than a airgun and compressor? I already have a blasting cabinet so I just need to purchase equipment for the painting side of things.

If youve got the prep side of things covered, then I suggest just getting a good airbrush, a water catch for the compressor, and paint. Should be all you need to whip out some projects.

Should I go with a small airbrush or a spray gun? Or should I get both? Which brands are quality equipment?

If you have alot of painting to do I'd go with a HVLP system, it holds more paint and gives you alot of control. I use a Paasche Airbrush now and I like it alot  I started with the one that came in the Lauer EZkit and it worked ok for 2 items then started to shit the bed. I haven't used a HVLP in years and I can't remember any brand names so I can't really help you out there.
