How well will duracoat stick to krylon
I still plan on degreasing. |

Don't mean to hijack, but if you but krylon on top of duracoat..can you take the krylon off without taking the duracoat off. I believe you can, just wana make sure. Yes, you should be just fine. I've not used Duracoat in this application but the Norrell's I've used as a base coat has allowed me to remove the krylon and reapply without any issues. |

Most of the Krylon will come off during the degreasing process, if you use a strong solvent.
I would consider a cheap can of non-chlorinated brake cleaner and a trip to the local car wash. The Duracoat will stick just fine to the Krylon. The problem is the Krylon won't stick well to the gun. So, you really do need to do a good job of removing the Krylon. |

If there is any krylon left you could take a toothbrush and some MEK and go to work on the tricky spots...you will want to wear a mask for this part. |
| I just duracoated my 700P. I had it Krylon'd it with a few coats and a coat of matte clear on top of that. If I would've used brake cleaner it would've taken about 15 cans. If it's tough to get off, try laquer thinner and a rag. This worked for me and took about -15-25 mins to do the barrel and action. Then run some non chlorinated brake cleaner over that to make sure all the grease is gone. |
