I just bought an airbrush and need to know how to connect it to my compressor. The airbrush appears to have a 1/8" outlet for air. What do i need to attach this to my compressor which i believe has a 5/8" female socket.

go to the plumbing department and get a brass adapter to go from your 1/4 airbrush male hose end to female 5/8 compressor. That will let you attach a male quick release to the end of the airbrush. Then just plug it into your compressor hose.

adapter looks like this

Be sure you have a pressure regulator on your compressor and turn it down to 30-40 psi.

A regulator is a good idea.

I typically spray KG gunkote at 18 to 20 psi  So just experiment to see what pressures you are best working at.  even wet misting coats is what to look for.  Not dripping, nor powder dry.
