I have a Colt Mustang Pocketlite that need refinishing. The frame is anodized aluminum with nickel over that. The nickel is starting to come off in a few places and there are areas with wear down to the base aluminum. I am thinking about using black moly resin to refinsh but am wondering what the best prep would be. Do I need to completely strip the nickel with a chemical nickel strippers or can I bead or fine abrasive blast it and then coat over that?

If the nickel is flaking off now I would strip it and start new. Once the nickel is off hit the frame with 120 girt aluminum oxide and you will be good to go.

Should I bead blast after chemical stripping or just degrease and coat?
