I came up with this scheme, sandblast , followed by duracoat tan, then used Testors enamel model paint white on the underside. Then thinned way down some yellow mixed with just a drop of brown, it was transparent, just applied more on the upper surface.  Once I got the color I liked did the spots.  Ended up clear coating with Duracoat clear matte.  Painted the barrel and front sight too in duracoat.

The photos make it look a little brighter than it really is.  What I mean is it is darker in person.  I might subdue it a bit by misting it with black.
