Went to buy a fan at the local Home Depot and ended up in the paint department. Found some odd stuff so decided to try it on a few old handguards. It's made by Rustoleum and looked funky so I bought it. I think the name is "American Accents", the can is in the garage and I don't feel like going downstairs. It's a texture that sprays on like flinging mud. Gonna let it dry and see how it holds up. If it works out, I will use the handguards on a 6.8 upper I am planning at this time. Tzvia |
My first though was eeewww when I saw it at the store. But it sorta grew on me. Doesnt feel like plastic. More like thick paint blobs of tans and browns. It looks better in person for sure. And since these were handguards I will never otherwise use, it was an experiment with no loss other than a few minutes of my time and some 'couch change'. It's different, it looks better than painting your AR purple and pink, and way better than the razzle dazzle 'sink the Bismark' guns I've seen here (imo)  . Definitely not for an upper or lower, I plan on using one with an OD green upper next month. (gotta let the CC rest and research barrels).Tzvia |
