New to night vision and trying to learn more about it. I bought a used PVS-14 Gen 3 Pinnacle from my buddy and when I took it apart I noticed there's a film on the lens. What film is that? I noticed when google-ing gen 3 tubes, others dont have this film on their tubes.

is it not just where the fibre optic has been trimmed - ground flat round the edge - so it just looks like another layer on it
