A couple of questions. First, is it worth it? Second the price of this + PVS14 is as much as a very good fusion unit. Problem is that I already have a couple PVS 14s and want to add thermal. Third, Can it be mounted on the other side of the PVS 14 so it doesn't block the vision from your other eye, or let you use a second PVS 14. Thanks! |

I've eyed and researched the COTI a lot and have found very limited user info around the net. I'm not sure if it's for me or not at this time. First, $6800 is pretty stiff for a 320 core device in today's market that has very limited useable range quoted from COTI users. I'm not sure if there is any wiggle room from retail haven't seriously called and discussed pricing yet.
I don't like the 1 year warranty for a $6800 device TNVC pointed out most Military systems do have short warranty periods which is true. That said, I don't have military type money so warranty is important to me. Overall my biggest hold back is price for performance point. If the COTI was 4K- 4.5K I would already own one. If the COTI gave me a true 100-200 yard detection range that would peak my interest some more. If the the COTI was a 640 core at 7K then that would get my attention more. |
| I had one at one time. It does work as advertised, but range is short and gets muddled with multiple heat signatures. IMO it doesn't pull the weight of its pricetag, so we parted ways. NV plus a dedicated thermal for detection might not be as seamless to use, but is superior IMO. |
