So I'm looking to jump into a PVS14 and a local guy has a really good deal for me. From what I know these numbers look legit, but I'd like to get some advice from people that know better than me. I haven't seen the unit in person yet because I don't want to waist the guys time if the spec sheet numbers aren't right.
What is everyone's opinion on this spec sheet?

It's quite good, bordering great.

Resolution is quite high, but S/N is about average.

It's not autogated though, so won't handle high light levels.

Read some of the other threads to get a better idea of performance -

Regards

With the age of the Gen 3 tube, is it still better than the Gen2+ that Night goggles sell?

In terms of performance yes and with a good margin. You wont get a warranty obviously but other than that, the only big benefit with those Photonis tubes from NGI is their recoil handling capability. I have no idea what the downgrade code in the spec sheet means, but NGI Photonis tubes aren't mil spec either.
