I am trying to see what the power/range of the IR light on the TLR VIR is? I cant find anything and the numbers aren't comparable to other devices because of LED.
I guess specifically comparing the A2 D2 vs getting the I2 and this as an illuminator. |

Basically it will be about half as good as an m952v since it has really bad throw (so maybe 50-100 yards max). The D2 illuminator when adjusted to it's smallest will go beyond 700-800 yards in my experience. Another thing to consider is that the large spill on the TLR and even the m952v is that in brush it will tend to blind you since the light is spilling so far. The white light on the TLR-VIR as well as the m952v is decent...but not that great. Another thing to consider is that since you are obviously looking for an IR source to use in conjunction with a laser, you will want dual activation. So light and laser turning on at the same time. With a dedicated unit is easy...with a TLR/I2...not so much. |
