Seems like an older unit. Any idea what I should pay for one in used condition? I'm thinking $500 but curious what you guys think.

Its a 160x120 core. With 2 different lens options. 500 would be a good deal for you.

Probably the nearest competitor from the same era would be the older Raytheon MX-1/ X100xp and X150XP's and the cheapest I've seen those go for is about 1-1.5k but their form factor is much better (smaller).

it is a 160x120 fixed 3x (approximately) unit that takes 4xAA batteries. I would think it is worth way more than $500, imho, but if you can get it for that so long as it's fully functional, jump on it. I enjoyed that model at one point in time and do not regret it one bit.

There were 2 lens options in the literature I saw, 3x (50mm)and 1x (30mm) or so. I imagine the 3x is the more useful of the two for long range detection based on my experience with the earlier raytheon units.

Dont count on sending it back to FLIR for repair.  They discontinued those years ago and no spare parts available.

yea, I figured that out when I dropped mine
they wanted to charge me $500 or so to evaluate it with no guarantee of repair. I cut my losses and sold it for pennies on the dollar to an very smart EE who made something of it
