Looks like they ditched the iPhone case design and went with something more like the Seek unit. Does anybody have more details ? |

http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/flir-systems-launches-multiple-products-ces-2015-second-generation-flir-one-android-nasdaq-flir-1980156.htm The current Lepton is 80X60 = 4,800 pixels but I believe the new one coming out is 160X120 = 19,200 pixels, that would work for a low end cheap intro FLIR RS thermal weapon scope for short range under 150 yards for night pest control on my Ruger 10/22.....will find out at Shot in two weeks! Plus it could make for a tiny RDS sized thermal scope too! New FlirOne looks like Seek Thermal and has 4X more pixels than original FlirOne with 160X120 Lepton core! http://gizmodo.com/flirs-new-tiny-predator-vision-thermal-camera-now-fits-1677792125 http://appadvice.com/appnn/2015/01/ces-2015-the-next-generation-flir-one-brings-thermal-imaging-to-any-iphone-or-ipad |

The image should be better than Seek since it is a dual camera unit. I suspect the Flir software is better too. |

Anyone have any more info on this? I read another site saying the pixels are 640x480 - unless I am misunderstanding that. http://www.idownloadblog.com/2015/01/07/aces2015-flir-one-2nd-gen/ "“This proprietary and patented technology is additive in that no thermal information is lost, enhancing the perceived 640×480 resolution of the thermal image,” said the firm." I am so very close to buying a therm-app, but if the new flir one truly has 640x480 along with their MSX software, and for a price tag around $300 - that would be absolutely amazing. |

If you use it during the day in a lit area the perceived resolution will be that 640x480 (or better) because it is superimposing thermal/visible....but if it is used in the dark you will only be seeing the thermal image so performance will be pretty low. If it was down to a $300 FLIR one (probably more like $400 since it is an upgraded version) or a $1k+ Thermapp.....Therm-app will give you a LOT better performance. |

An Eotech or AimPoint sized weapon mounted thermal would be nice! Torrey Pines Logic makes one... no reticle though. T10 |
