I just purchased an X320 a couple of weeks ago . I was upgrading from my old X50 and really like it . I changed my first set of batteries the other night and it flashed once then went off, now it will only work with the Ac adapter. I have tried umpteen sets of batteries. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of this problem? I have started the RAR process but I'm pretty upset because I made the investment for a nine day hunt starting next week.

Sucks... Never had an issue like that but I have an older unit, not the 320... How does the 320 compare to the X50? I assume alot better?

Hey before you send it back try this.

The x320 is a really neat unit but the unit boots up in a high current mode. I have seen a couple of other guys have the same type problem and the fix was easy for them. They were also about to send the unit back to L3. I know you have tried umpteen batteries but try a BRAND new set of lithium batteries. Both of the other guys tried several sets of new batteries but they were using new out of box run-of-the mill alkaline batteries- short story is although they were new they weren't very fresh. The x320 is hard on crappy batteries- make sure you use lithium batteries- you can get away with Alk batteries in warm weather but cold weather will kill them quick, L3's newest manual on the x320 covers this- I believe it was changed from "lithium batteries recommended" to "use only Lithium batteries" One of the engineers recommended that if users are caught in a pinch using low grade batteries in winter climates they should turn the unit on and leave it on until the batteries need to be changed- don't do quick look around on-and-offs.

Good luck

That was the first thing I tried , went out and bought a fresh set of lithiums , no dice.  My manual does not state lithiums only and I was running Duracell quantum before with no issues, it stopped working when I put lithiums in it. I also tried powering it up with the ac cable and batteries in it then pulling the cord but it would not stay on.  Your making me wonder if I should go get another set and try again? Thanks for the feed back.

It's worlds better, all the new options are neat but I'm not sure how much they will get used. The clarity and depth is what I am/was real happy with. I've only gotten to play with it in the yard but I could clearly make out and follow squirrels in the trees at fifty yards and they were well defined.
