I have searched around, before you bring me down in flames.
I have seen advertised the EOtech battery cover/box replacement that has an IR laser in it. Has anyone used them? Do they work well? Etc? Suchu |

NVM= nevermind (I think)
OP, not much for reviews on this one. I played some with one at SHOT in Jan and thought it was built well. They are pricey, but what decent IR product is not these days. I think you would probably be happy with one should you decide to purchase. |
| I've had one on back order for over 5 months. Though they are on many web sites for sale they have not left the factory yet and a email to Eotech I sent two months ago produced a return email with the usual vague response as to when they will actually come out. Can we assume they are having huge problems with product ion and quality control? I do not know but it is strange that there has been a lot of press on the Internet for so long for a product that is still not available. I think Eotech has dropped the ball on this one. |

I played with one at SHOT as well but it was still inside the package. I don't know if it was a working unit or just a gutted shell for display purposes. Seems well built but I think retail was around 800 bucks. I am on the fence. I just don't know about a laser on the EO. I was hoping someone else would have tried them out by now so we could get some field reports.
I think I would just put the 800 bucks towards a dedicated laser. Hard to decide when we have little information to go on. |

Hard to decide when we have little information to go on. Some of the online pricing is more like $400 for the dual unit. I am interested too, since the Class 1 IR laser market is pretty limited and I like EoTech gear. It would be great if they offered an IR only version. |

It would be great if they offered an IR only version. That's what I really wanted as well. Non-slaved visible lasers are just wasted bulk. If I ever actually get mine I'm going to try to get the "blank plate" that Eotech puts on the other side of the visible-only model and just take the red laser off of mine. |

The bulk is something of a concern with this unit. Eliminating the visible module would help. The other issue may be support hand placement for those of us that don't use a VFG. |
