There's a few things to consider. It provides three contacts: battery (+) and (-) and also signal from the reed switch embedded into the battery carrier. These touch "bumps" in the bottom of the battery compartment. Normally they should not cause issues, but they tend to get stuck under the bumps. Shine a flashlight in and you'll see. There are no locking nodules to worry about. The only thing keeping them in are the power terminals, which are mushroom shaped, but still possible to get the contacts stuck on them. It's a poor design and I am thinking about designing a new battery carrier for them... Maybe taking 1 x CR123 and another taking 2xAA. The original parts are a PITA. Uh, 1/4" ? Might be the spring terminal ( just tension I think ) on the top flicking up and getting caught in the locking slot where the rotating lock usually fits. That's easy to get to and a little jiggling with a screwdriver will help you remove it - look at the top of the carrier. Easy to see. Regards David |
| i know its broke cos a bit of the terminal fell out - i have made a new one and putting it back together now ( someone helped me - on another forum , its to lift up with screwdriver etc. ) yes it is a weak and flimsy thing - looks like an afterthought , like it should be something else better made to go in there - thanks |
