I built a cascade tube from the awesome thread David (cjhawk) put out, then bought a NE from TNVC. People I knew, even shooters, looked at me funny that I sold so many guns, ammo, mags, and parts to buy a "toy".
And then they got a look. The nearly universal reaction has been, "holy shit!" particularly when I break out the AR with the D2 on it. Pirating the Magpul logo, it's an unfair advantage. Interestingly, the former military folks are usually the ones most floored. I guess they're just used to "meets min specs" -14s, that a quality commercial unit that, frankly, gets pampered rather than abused, blows them away. One Marine told me about my -14, "it's like it's making love to my eye!" |
