Fair go guys, he asked for a cheaper solution, not a less-than-$500 solution. Take a look at the M845 that TNVC is selling and has mentioned in recent posts. It's a low-cost milspec unit that is suitable for what you want and is Gen2. Coupled with a decent torch, it should meet your requirements. Regards David
