| I have an autogated Pvs-14 and went to turn it on and then nothing. For some reason unknown to me (lol) I shook it and it turned on. Hmmm, is this something I should be concerned about? It works okay now but every once in a while it won't then it does after a front shake? Any ideas? |

check old batteries for signs of corrosion, if present, replace. inspect battery contacts, and clean them with a rubber pencil eraser. regardless of condition of old batteries, change batteries, replace in unit, try to power it up again. if it is in warrenty, send it back, else check with ed wilcox (or several other shops) for possible inspection and repair, or if you are adventurous, do this search: http://www.google.com/search?q=pvs14+won't+power+on+site%3Aar15.com&btnG=Search&hl=en&gbv=1 then start reading. this thread has good suggestions, and some photos to help you http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=6&f=18&t=365561 another thread http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=6&f=18&t=355728 and some videos from compasscall, who doesn't seem to be around here anymore? http://www.ak47.net/forums/t_6_18/343234__ARCHIVED_THREAD____DIY__PVS_14_Build__video_.html&page=1 http://www.ak47.net/forums/t_6_18/343173_.html if stuck, post you question with pictures, and maybe someone can help |
