Picked this up over at Predator Master's forum.

It is a software update for the FLIR PS32 that allows you to toggle the back lights off on your buttons, it also it allows you to adjust the amount of time it takes for the auto shut off to kick in definable up to 5000 seconds!

That is awesome!  Great coincidence here.

I took a coworkers grandson on a stalk saturday night, and we shot all of the bullets (5 dead pigs on the ground), but there was still a wounded hog hobbling around the field, I ran over to it, and dispatched it with a knife.

In all of the action, my neck rope that attached to my MS24 broke, and I didn't realize my FLIR was gone until I got to the truck!

We went back with the 4wheelers, and found it, but because of my "tactical duct tape job" to hide the lighted buttons, it was harder to find.

Well, now my yellow marine model FLIR imager has the soul of a green scout

I turned the lighted buttons off, the silly sound off, added the Instalert feature, and increased shut down time to 10 minutes.....and took off the black duct tape, haha.

Thanks for this one Skypup!

I lost my PS-32 once while out hogging and just about had a heart attack when I got back to the truck and noticed I did not have it, it was a long walk out to look for it but it was right in the middle of the trail about two miles out and back again. We had many excursions off the trail but lucked out that it fell in the middle of the trail. What a great feeling it was to see that laying there....

I am keeping my LS-64 attached to a neckstrap and lanyard to prevent that from happening...

And remember, ABSOLUTELY NEVER set your NVO or Thermal gear on your bumper, tailgate, hood, etc. even momentarily or you will be sorry you did.

"ABSOLUTELY NEVER set your NVO or Thermal gear on your bumper, tailgate, hood, etc. even momentarily or you will be sorry you did."

I lost a fabulous folding knife once by setting it on my bumper after cutting a bag of ice to put in the chest.

Lesson purchased for the cost of one $300 knife....

So the above link will turn my yellow flir to green?

EDIT:  Thanks for posting this!

Ok.  Installed the update but I don't know how to turn off the button lights.

You have some options in the Cayman software installation, such as InstaAlert, Marine Red, Back Lights, Time of operation in seconds before auto shutdown.

Just click check the ones that you wish to install, ie click the BackLight box and it will turn it off.

The Cayman file is the update file. Select SW Update, then browse for the cayman file and install it. after you do that, open the configuration button and you will see it.

There are 2 files you need to download at the link. one is a .zip file and the other is the .dfu file.

Unzip the zip file and run Setup. let it load all the drivers, this takes some time.

Plug the cable into your Flir and PC and power it on

Click the SW Update button

Click Browse and find the Cayman file and click Install

Click Configuration button and you will see the boxes for the various options, including back lights off, check that box and install.

If you accidentally lose your lens cap protecting your expensive germanium lens, the replacement lens caps from FLIR fit the PS-32 same as the LS-64, just sayin'......
