I need a mount that mounts my pvs14 behind my ta31

I need a mount that mounts my pvs14 behind my ta31 ???? Won't work, for starters the reticle would bloom something fierce and burn in. You need a clip-on in front of something like an ACOG. Like the PVS-22 or PVS-24. The reason you can't put a PVS-14 in front is that it's not optically aligned with the ACOG, so accuracy will hit or miss. |

IT dose work, I tape the tube so the reticle is black. Works great I just need a way to mount it. |

(Just so there's no front/rear definition confusion) 1. SHOOTER == PVS-14 == ACOG == MUZZLE 2. SHOOTER == ACOG == PVS-14 == MUZZLE Scenario 1 will be troublesome due to eye relief and reticle blooming. It doesn't matter if you cover the fiber optic tube, the tritium should still glow bright enough to bloom the reticle. Scenario 2 will be troublesome since the the PVS-14 will not be optically aligned with the ACOG. |

TNVC (sponsor, link at top of page ) supply a suitable mount for this. Several I think. They know ACOGs well too, so if you call them, let them know what you want to do and they can probably advice on which mount is the best for your purposes. Regards David

1. SHOOTER == PVS-14 == ACOG == MUZZLE no blooming on mine. I just want to know what mount to buy. Wow mine bloomed like crazy on mine when I tried this a while back. I tried it on several ACOGs to see if any would work better. I got the same bad results each time. Random side note: I did find out that using an afocal wide angle camera lens with the Shooter = Acog= AFOCAL wide lens= pvs-14=muzzle configuration would allow the pvs-14 to get useable clarity through the ACOG. However the zeros were thrown way off, and it was not useul for more than just.. "Wow thats interesting" |

This will work for you. USGI PVS-14 Mount
You will need to mount the ACOG all the way to the front of the receiver and you will not have room for a back up iron sight. But, you can get the 14 behind the ACOG. And, you can leave the ACOG mounted in this position and still fight with the gun. In a proper fighting stance, you are leaning into/over the rifle anyway. This placement puts the ACOG in a better position for this posture anyway. |

If you had an IR laser, you could just take the ACOG off and mount the PVS14 in it's place for night shennanigans. Or just have the laser and the ACOG on the gun, NVD on the head in front of the left eye. This way rifle can be used day & night without modifications in between. Also if the NVD is not on the head, mobility in the dark will be pretty non-existent. |
