I have been looking around for some camera mounting setups to be able to take quality night vision photographs using both digital cameras and videorecorders.

I already purchased the PVS-14 camera adapters from TNVC for hooking up various cameras and video recorders using step-up rings for the PVS-14 ocular lens.

TNVC also carries a nice camera tripod picitanny mount adapter that really comes in handy in case you did not know about it, here it is:

Also, StrikeMark carries a nice digital camera and digital camrecorder picitanny rail mount too that really comes in handy:

StrikeMark also carries adapters for Go-Pro digital video recorders and Contour Video recorders too:

BTW, I also mounted one of my Sony 72mm 2X Telephoto videocam lenses onto the front objective lens of the PVS-14 using a 30.5mm-37mm adapter and it works outstanding. It has terrific light gathering ability and there is no deterioration in the visual image and no distortion or vignetting around the edges either. This particular Sony 72mm lens also has a HUGE ocular lens, so it really works nice. I tried a couple of other camrecorder lenses too which were not of the higher quality of my Sony lenses and they did not work nearly as good as this one did.

You can get them off Amazon new or used for relatively cheap for such a high quality lens:

Another tip for night vision and digital cameras is alot of times it works best to shoot video and use software to pull still frames from the video. It seems to help get great pictures with less trouble setting up the camera and other issues.

True that, especially if the digital camera can record in 1080P 30fps High Definition, the photos turn out great!

One of my Casio digital cameras records in 120, 240, 320 and 480 digital frames per seconds which works super for slo' mo' playback....
