It's cool to direct people to what you're looking at under NOD's (its intended use) but other than that it's kind of pointless. It's just an IR laser pointer to a civilian. It's designed to rope in targets for air support or direct personnel to a point of interest. No kidding, you call in air assets, you use it to draw a line from your position to the target, then you rope the target until CAS calls joy and throws a JDAM their way. Glorified laser pointer. As far as weapons mounting it, better options exist.

Hog hunting, maybe, but probably cost prohibitive considering their restricted nature and the availability of other Class 1 devices that do the job equally as well and fill other roles concurrently.

This laser is also a restricted product for LE/Mil only.  If seen on the open market, there is a 99% chance stolen or sold illegally.

Holy cow! I am glad I did not have the cash on me. I guess I will get one of the new dbal systems to fill my need. Thanks guys, Arfcom is the best!
