Very nice :) Thanks for the pics and write up - :) That obstacle course image is a thermal isn't it? Regards David Not thermal, just a cool edit in the photo, to bring out the depth of the course. It was made of pine plywood, and the pic we took, had too much reflected light to show all the deeper recesses. There was a photographer there taking his own pics, and if / when we get access to them, we will show them. He took NV enhanced pics and video. |

I wondered about the shadows, but there looked to be enough heat energy from the big lights above to create varying surface temperatures and I was thinking it was a pretty sensitive thermal camera if it could pick them up. As for the lights themselves, notice they are black and they cast "shadows" ? The image is more than "cool edited", it's inverted. :) ( ininverted ) - The lights are "white" now :) I figured Occam's razor suggested the reason was thermal and not that someone had photoshop inverted the picture. Regards David

Very nice looking helmet setup there :) I bet at 640x480 it almost looks like an image intensifier - :) How does it go for eye relief with goggles? Having thought about it, my favorite photo is the one with the classroom. It really highlights the efforts that TNVC must have gone to and makes the whole setup look really professional - :) Thanks again for some great pics :) David

I recently demoed some LEO / shooting instructors here in TX, and they were blown away by the 640 X 480 M24. I recently sold a TAM-14, and that had weapon mount capability. If I were using this on a weapon, I would definitely get the 640 X 480. However, since I use mine in conjunction with I^2, and had to save $$ for a new DBal I^2 and other necessary peripheral gear , I had no choice but to go with the 320 X 240 thermal.
It still kicks ass. ETA: you're most welcome for the pics, and yes, this was run professionally, through and through. |

Thank you everyone, yes we have put a LOT of work in to geting things just the way we want them. Lots of lessons learned over the years of NVG training in various locations and under many different conditions. We wanted to make a place where we had total control over the lighting conditions so we could cover all the different teaching points we feel are necessary. What we ended up with is a great venue where we can accomplish it all during the daytime, in the airconditioning to boot. We can black it out so much that you have to use some sort of supplemental illumination if we want to, then break for lunchand walk across he street and grab a hamburger.
If you are still trying to make up your mind, just register for a class and get out here. Don |
