Ok, I’ve read a bit as to how “Digital Night Vision” has made great advancements and is equal to Gen 2+ “image intensifier” night vision but at 1/2 – 1/3 the cost. Is there anything to this???? Does anyone make a PVS-14 “Style” Digital NV Monocular or PVS-22 “Style” Forward mounted Digital NV optic???? I’m sure if it’s new it would be a while before it is trusted to be used in combat, but is there anything in this Digital NV arena that would be a good low cost alternative for coyote or feral hog hunting and the like? |

Nearly all digital NV that can be bought at the moment is Gen1 quality. Very little would come anywhere close to Gen2... Here's a test. If it doesn't say anything about Gen2, it's really bad and if it does, it's worse.
On the other hand, the combat-level digital stuff is equal to thin-film Gen3 or better. David |
