Got my D300 and like it, but want to mount it behind a scope. Do these adapters damage either the scope or the D300? Are they guaranteed to last under the moderate recoil of a heavy-barreled .308?

How can the D300 be mounted so close and still see, when the scope focuses inches behind it?

P.S. This is the scope:

And this'll lengthen stock:

No damage at all by using a universal adapter.  Each unit is made for the NV monocular being used.  While we do not recommend a .308 for NV monoculars, almost all report no issues with this cal.  Be advised, do NOT go above a .308.  The uni-adapter is not in question, the unit itself is fine.   As for the focus, no issue here as well, as the D-300, MUM's, and PVS-14 can focus very close so the uni-adpaters work very well for this type of work.  Hope this helps.

Even with the economy and weak dollar, I'm sold. But I hold my NV up behind a couple scopes and if it's as close as in the picture it's like looking through a long tunnel. When I hold it back far enough from the scope's eye relief it sees perfectly. I really want this adapter, but as far as I can tell my D300 needs to be 4 fingers further back than the adapter holds it in the picture?

Does the adapter come with some lens to shorten the eye-relief of the scope, or do i adjust something on the D300? It's the 2+milspec version you offer, if that matters.

Here is some pics of the uni with the scope above.  Pictures tell a few thousands words more.

This is taken with a PVS-14 Pinnacle Gen 3, you will get the same FOV with the D-300, but of course less resolution and brightness.  Hope this helps.

K here's the question I can't articulate then, does the view with the NV attached look like a crimped version of what I'd see without NV during daylight, like a smaller circle compared to a big one?

The FOV will show a SLIGHT decrease with the introduction of the uni adapter, from a normal day use look.  but it varies from scope to scope as well obviously from the magnification used. There is no exact way to measure this slight loss with all the different scopes on the market. Either way, if you get the unit and it does not work out for you, simply return it to us for a refund. As long as the unit is still in the same shape it came to you, no issues.

Thanks for the help, sign me up for 1. Can I help provide any specifications by measuring the scope?

Just give us a call and tell us what scope yo have. But with that said, the unit comes with 7 sleeves that will fit over most scopes out there. Thanks.
