Why in heavens name did they use a red laser instead of a green laser for the visible laser?

The Green lasers are out there now. Hope this helps.

May have had to do with the packaging requirements and getting it all to fit in the unit, as well as being reliable enough under recoil. Not sure what companies are doing lately to get green lasers to hold up, but even the ChiComs are getting it right.
