I recently got a D-760 in generation II and I'm debating on which rifle to mount it to.  Would something like a 308 or a 30-06 be too much recoil for it or do I need to stick with something like 5.56?  I really don't want to damage this scope considering how much it cost.  Thank you for the help.

The D-760 or D-740 will do fine on .50bmg's, ask me how I know!
