yes, they are supposed to be non replaceable, but i have acces to them

they do last a while, but the compass is supposed to be a disposable item, if it ever dies i will change the battery for ya

Also, just to let folks know, ITT has stopped producing all NV compasses due to magnetic error related issues.

I think he does, but i have and use a mount with no magnets.....  I think that was the whole issue

Does your PVS auto shut-off when you flip it up?  That is what the magnet that fubar's the compass reading is there for in the first place.

So it's the flip up portion in the rhino mount that has the magnet? If that's the case,the head mount shoud not interfere.

there were some mounts which were not equipped for auto shutoff when you flip the unit up from your head

if you like the compass, just find one of em, or remove the magnet from an old mount, mine was just for a unit which never had the 2 brass contacts on the body of the monocular, the j arm has no wire, and the rhino mount has no magnet

look and you shall find, or modify
