I hope this is the appropriate place to ask this question.
I have two pvs 14's.  When I use them with my NV compatable eotech's the distance that I can clearly see my target drops by about 2/3's.  Is this common?
range of clear observation(able to detect objects clearly) with just the pvs 14 is about 150yds.
viewing throught the 14 and the eotech is about 50(and no where as clear)
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Is the image you are viewing through the Eo-tech darker or less clear?

I experience a degradation of sharpness with my optima 2000 at 1X. perfectly clear at 3X??? Still trying to figure that one out.

I actually went to a Doctor thinking the glass lens would be clearer but the edges of the Doctor are not 90 degrees from the plane of sharp focus. This caused a shadow image (when viewed through the 14 around the edge of the doctors lens that was too much for me so I went back to the Optima.

it lacks the sharpness.  Just so I understand,  u get more clarity using a 3x magnifier in conjunction with your NV and your sights?
thanks

Hmmm I see no degradation when viewing through an EO. With a 3x magnifier the image is still quite nice. What I think might be happening is a reflection is coming from your EO's lens. Are you sure the IR illuminator is off on your PVS or any other close light source is not reflecting off the lens?  Just my initial thoughts on the obvious.

Quick question for ya, what model of Eo tech and (this is not meant to offend I just have a sneaking suspicion) are you sure it is a real Eo tech?

That was my question as well, is it the NV compatible one and if so, what setting do you have the reticle on?  You may be to bright and washing the tube out.

not offened at all.  I have 2 model 552.A65 I get the same results with both units.
I keep the setting ( in NV mode) as low as it will go.  which is pretty dim.
BTW,  appreciate the help/feedback/response.
