I keep getting fog on my PVS14 on these evenings that the it is hot in the day and then cold at night what do I do to prevent the fog?

try antifog spray or anti fog cloth...my mini14 came with a demist shield with a anti fog coating on it and has still never fogged up.

You can use anti fog compounds that rub on the lenses but they don't work all that great.   They do work though.....

You can let the NVGs get to the same temp as the surronding enviroment
that helps but doesn't work great....

I had this problem rarely with my army issue PVS 14's  they would fog up just from breathing after a heavy run and I would have to wipe of the obj lens to see again.

I don't think there is a 100% cure maybe some else here has one.......

Fog tech. It does the trick. Be very carefull cleaning the lenses especially the eyepiece. Apply with a q tip and it lasts quite a while.

Its on the eye piece!  and it is fogging up after I'm hot and it is cold.  The unit already had time to adjust, but me giving off the heat was the problem!.

My unit said it came with a demist shield but I can't figure out what this is?  is this the clear cap looking thing?  If so that looks like it goes on the objective side and won't help me very mch

The demist shield is the small clear "lens" looking thing that inserts into the occular.  I don't use mine.

I had some fogging issues exactly the same as yours not too long ago, and tried the FogTech at IPSC's suggestion; I haven't had any fogging issues since.  It is definitely worth trying, but as he cautions, be careful when cleaning/applying.

When I say be careful I MEAN it. Of the two glass surfaces, you can scratch the HELL out of the objective before you will notice any image degradation but if you scratch the coating on the eyepiece it will create very fuzzy images.

DON'T ask me how I know...

If the eyepiece is fogging up, you are probably holding it to close to your eye.  The reason for the 25mm lens is so that you can get it further from your eye.  I fly with ANVIS routinely and never have this problem when the lens is kept the proper distance away.  If you have  the eyeshield on, try taking it off and see if you have the same problem, the eyeshield isn't necessary unless you are trying to hide from the enemy.
