I just picked up a Thyrm VariArc and mounted a X300V to it. It is the loosest fit I have ever experienced on a Picatinny rail. I even tightened the 6 little allen screws on the Surefire to the point I thought I was going to break something. Any head movement and all you hear is rattling. Anyone else running this combo and know of a way to get a tighter fit?

A simple twist while the Velcro and bottom plate stays stationary is ideal. Quicker, quieter etc |

Generally X-series lights come with the "Universal" pattern cross lug installed for use on Glocks and other pistols with non-MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rails and come with a "P" marked adapter that can be installed for 1913 STD rails. ~Augee |

Anybody have Gentex charge your card the same day as order placed? I thought they charged when ready to ship, items have a 30 to 90 day lead time.

Not sure if this is a problem with my AXL RAC links or not, should there be this much gap? I had to put the plastic fasteners on over the ears to hold everything in place. It works for the time being.

Like everyone has said... the AMP arms are legit. The power cable on the liberators is annoyingly short and the forward position makes it impossible to run it behind or under the helmet. Thanks again to @eyeofodin who has custom 3D printed parts for my helmet and NV setup. His wealth of knowledge in everything tinkering (fixed my damaged comtac headset) and NV has been a huge help. |

View Quote So far, I'm impressed for what I have in a set of duals ($1575). They don't warranty the tubes on these, but who would warranty something that is as old as a PVS-5? I sure wouldn't. I knew what I was getting when I bought them and the risks, and while I hope they don't die on me suddenly before I get a lot of use out of them, I've seen the light (or should I say dark?) and I definitely want a nicer set when the time comes that I have $6-8k to drop on "real" new duals. That plus a PERST is still a significant advantage over anyone else on the proverbial block around here... I know a few people with thermal and maybe one or two that have PVS-14's. As for the Krydex "mohawk"... the holding strength/power of their hook & loop is insane. Pulling it off from the top of the tail actually made the glue on the back of the H&L that came on the helmet un-stick from the shell itself and I had to superglue it back on. |

Keep an eye out for the black and green Oregon Aero pads for that ACH if you frequent surplus stores often. You can sometimes find them in bins of pads for pennies. Big improvement over those gray pads for cheap if you run across them.
My issued helmets had the black and green Oregon Aero pads. I don't know when they switched over to the gray ones but they are pretty rough and were a definite downgrade. |

I'll keep an eye out, though surplus stores around here have become few and far between.
