| Hello. I have a AN/PVS14. I want to leave it occasionally in my BOB in the vehicle. However due to the heat in the summer time and the heat build up in the vehicle, I am a little concerned over the long exposure it could hurt it. Anyone have knowledge in this? Thanks |
DO NOT store your night vision devices in the heat for long periods of time. In the grand scheme of things NVDs are pretty delicate instruments all in all. Now the PVS 14 is rated to be stored as high as 185 degrees but I would not want to do it for any length of time. O rings dry out and crack plus the II tube is really a large vacum tube and the less stress on it the longer it will last. IF you can plan around that item not being in your BOB but have it someplace you can get to it readily. IPSC_GUY SIERRA II ALPHA |
