I want to acquire some night vision for a variety of reasons.  It seems that the MUM is what I need.  With that said I have some questions:

1)  Can I couple it with a digital SLR camera?  How easy is it to use with a video camera or a Leupold HD spotting scope?

2)  Is it a pain to site in if I use it on an AR platform?  I want to varmint hunt at night.

3)  If it breaks a few years down the road is it repairable?

Thanks guys!

Using it with a video camera can be a it tricky at times but step down rings can be obtained. A universal adapter can be used for the MUM in conjunction with your spotting scope for decent looks.  As for using it on your AR, there is no actual sighting in of the the MUM.  What you would use is a EO Tech (NV Compatible version) or an Aimpoint, and you would place these devices directly in front of the MUM as seen below. You simply sight these in during the day and when you ready to shoot at night, mount the NVD directly behind the day optic and your ready to go!  Also, most new systems come with a bumper to bumper warranty for 2 years.  Gen 3 tubes are good for 10,000 hours + as well!  Hope this helps,

Thanks Victor,

Can is be used with a digital SLR camera to take pics?  Also, do you know if it will work in front of a Leopold CQ/T scope.  Not sure if it will work or not with the limited eye relief?

A digital SLR is just like any camera. There is a kit avalible that adaptes the MUM or PVS 14 for that matter via a clamping ring on the back to the of the MUM (it clamps to the eyecup retaining ring) to the objective lens of the camera. Personally I would rig up some sort of rail system to support both the MUM and the camera kind of like the old KIRK tripod adapters for the older 80-200mm F2.8 Nikkors.

As for using the MUM in front of the CQT it will not work. It has to go behind. In front will cause point of aim / point of impact shifts as the path through any night vision device is SLIGHTLY angled.
