The ENVIS can use the PRI M69 NV mount.  They will hold up fine for .223 recoil on an AR.

I think some of the more recent ones came with filmless or thin filmed tubes. Thats the main worry when it comes to recoil sensitivity. But if you have a standard tube it should work fine.

Agreed on the thin filmed or filmed of course....As for the filmless, did not know some of the Envis were...If they are, indeed, NOT rated for recoil!

I love my ENVIS. I would put it on a head or helmet mount but since it was not designed for a weapon I don't think I would put it on one. Just my .02

Anyone know when the ENVIS scopes began having the thin-filmed tubes installed in them? I am thinking of buying an ENVIS with a  manufacture date of 25/03 on the tube power supply, so I am assuming that the scope was assembled somtime in the last half of 2003, I was wondering  what kind of performance to expect.  the tube has two small blemishes in zone two, very similar to Victor`s photo of an example of a  B-grade Select-A tube. otherwise it is very clear.

2003, your still into OMNI 4 territory there and those are very burly tubes. go ahead and get it.

Here is the deal on tube being able to take recoil. The higher the HALO value (which means street lights bloom more) the more the tube can take because the distance from the ION barrier to the front of the MCP is greater.

My own PVS 14 is a blem free OMNI 4 and I will hang on to that one forever. The funny thing is that it performs within 5% of even brand new Select A 73 LPM tubes.  In side by side here look throguh this and tell me which is sharper only one person has been able to pick out the differance.

If you like the tube, get it,

Cool, thanks guys I had been wondering about weapon mounts for it for a while.  For those of you "in the know" on this subject, can it also use this type of mount?  They seem to be relatively abundant and comparitively inexpensive.  Thanks

The mount will accept the ENVIS. It will not line up behind a red dot scope though. The screw that mounts into the monocular is offset. The hole in the ENVIS is centered. Also there is no angled cut out in an ENVIS body to lock the monocular in place. I had an ENVIS and had www.abnightvision.com/ put the tube into one of his NVM housings. Now it works perfectly with all PVS 14 accessories and the power switch is much better than the push button on the ENVIS.

If you remove the tube, the manufacture date on the power supply is stamped into the metal near the part #, its a four digit code in the - MM\WW format (M=month, W=week) most commercial tubes don`t have a data sticker or any info besides a serial #.  I would like to know around what serial # the ITT tubes switched to thin-film, my tube # is in the 134xxxx range, and the power supply  date is in the summer of 2003.
