What's to know about these before buying?

First, they are restricted items and they cannot be purchased new from the manufacturer except if your a govy type and then they can only be shipped to a military or fed unit on a purchase order.  No individual sales.  If you do buy one used, keep in mind that they are always bought as-is and if anything ever goes wrong with the unit, you cannot return it to Insight for repair.  You can visit our NV FAQ on pg.1 and see a few more tid-bits as well.  Hope this helps.

As much as everyone wants a PEQ 2 there are MUCH cheaper and smaller ways to acomplish the same thing.

The IWAL 2 is on the market as is Vic's Torch. This combo will give ya nice aiming and illum capabilities. Also there are a few LDI OTALS running around on the open market and like Vic said if anything goes wrong with your unit, Your stuck with it.

Of course, the question is, how do you get the IWAL?

That's the easy part.

IWAL 2

Now I need to get Victor's latest "torch" for my SBR Nighfighter and my SPR Nightfighter.

If that's the case then the HK clone is a better deal.

I'm, pretty sure it's 5mw.
Is the HK clone waterproof, will it hold zero and continue to function after 1000 rounds of 75gr BH, all metal, low profile, battery life, useable indoors and out, and so forth?

Is it all the above exept waterproof, Battery life is listed at 5 hours continuous. I'm happy with mine. Shot 200 rounds through 9mm carbine, held zero still works.
