This would be a good reason for a trust. But you might not be able to be the primary and might have to be a trustee on your relative's trust. I wouldn't rely on internet advice on this one though.

Just a couple IANAL thoughts.
1. As mentioned, a trust (or corp/LLC) would be an option. 2. You couldn't buy it as an individual out of state because you couldn't fill out the 4473 in the other state. |

That's about what I figured, but hadn't considered that use for the trust.
