My preferred range is in NC and I have a client I visit a few times a month just over the NC line.  For my 5320 would I just put the client address down or would I use something else?  I wasn't sure how others handle filling out the forms for same day over and back trips across state lines.

Your clients address would be fine, and you can set the term for up to 1 year (eg. 10/1/2016 - 9/30/2017). This allows you to go back and forth as many times as you like during that period.

yeah i get that.  should have put that in quotes (in addition to my lols) because it was told to me several years back after i got a rejected form.  i had basically indicated i would be taking my sbr to the blm public lands (with gps coordinates in the description) and there wasn't an exact address and the examiner said we just need a physical address, "somewhere where we can find your firearm if we came looking for it."  i understood the reference (keyword "if") and didn't take it mean atf goes looking for weapons but in the context of where will your firearm reside.  perhaps this was one of those examiners that probably thought every address, even within the same state, needs an approved form (which i will do if there is a significant distance involved).  so it was just a phrase used to explain it a little better.
