| I recently got a new job up here in AK, and for the next year I'm commuting back and forth from SD for my shifts. However, next summer I plan on moving up here permanently. I know about the form that needs to be filed with the ATF notifying them that I plan to permanently out of state. My main question is; since my trust will still be incorporated in SD, when I apply for new tax stamps will I be engraving "hauslp NFA TRUST, SIOUX FALLS, SD" on the firearm or will I need to engrave something else? Also, if the trust is incorporated in SD is it even possible to apply for new stamps for the trust if I have no address in SD anymore? |

What you engrave for location has absolutely nothing to do with the trust. You simply engrave the city & state where the firearm was made in an NFA item. It may match the F1, but it doesn't have to. It might match your DL, but doesn't have to.
Unless your trust has something specific to SD that is illegal in AK, or is missing something that's specific go AK, you should be good. Nothing wrong with paying an attorney in AK to look over it. Or, just start a new one for all future purchases. |

I'll likely meet with an attorney in Anchorage before I make the final move up. |
| Sorry, should've been more clear. Didn't mean to imply the items themselves would be illegal. Most places use uniform trust code, just wasn't sure about SD and/or AK. Wanted to make sure there wasn't something "extra" in there from SD that needed to be removed, or if AK requires something extra that needs to be added. That's all. |
