I currently have a registered SBR under my name, not a trust. I went to my local Class 3 dealer and we agreed on a trade 1-1 for a new SBR, I just pay the transfer fee and the stamp. I got an email from the guy tonight telling me that I needed to write a letter to the ATF with my updated address. I moved 3 years ago from the address that is listed on the paperwork for the stamp to a my current home, in the same state. Now I'm reading online that the ATF no longer accepts written letters for change of address. I informed him of this and he said he is emailing the ATF back for further clarification. Do any of you guys have any advice or information regarding this. I'm just trying to speed up the process of the transfer of my SBR to his shop so that I can get the new SBR stuff started. Once again this is NOT a Trust.

You could simply include a letter with the F4 explaining (in 1-2 sentences) that the Transferor address on the F4 is current but does not match the registry due to an in-state move. Not a "change of address" letter, just clarification as to the facts. Sending in a 5320.20 at this time is fairly pointless.
