Does the NFA branch notate when someone calls? Maybe in their status?
I've called twice in the past 7 days or so and I was wondering if it might affect my approval. I get that it seems petty but I work for a government office and I prioritize people that do not bother me all the time....not saying 2 times in 7 days fits my "all the time" metric. I was not planning on calling again for another week but I was just curious. I had never seen it discussed before. |

Not going to affect your transfer. And it has been discussed on these forums. Why call so often? Two times in 7 days is not a lot. I call once a week but my calls may overlap by one day. I just started in the past 2-3 weeks since my approval was reaching the approximate time frame. I realize I didn't specify in the first post. |

Jesus, why call so much, both of you? Just let it be. Check NFA tracker and get a feel for when you should be approved. Wait a week after you should be to see if your stamp arrives. Then call ONCE to find out of it's been approved or if it's problem status or if the stamps haven't been sent out yet and go from there. Calling 2 times a week is just

Once again it is ONCE a week. Just because it overlaps by half a day I wouldn't call that twice a week. Twice a week for 4 weeks is 8 calls. My call spacing would produce 4-5 but pretty much 4. |

I did not say what you are implying. I simply said that I prioritize people that don't bother me all the time. I did not say that I don't do my job or work hard. Don't be rude. |

Also, the more times you call the more time it takes them away from approving form. It'll get approved when it gets approved, you calling that much is excessive. I might call every other month... |

I highly doubt the person answering the phone and checking the status has anything to do with the approval process and isn't going to affect the approval. That being said, the only time I called was when a problem was suspected (Actually I did call once on another transfer to get a pending date, but no need for that anymore). And sure enough I was right...my efile form 4 had been approved almost a month prior but the dealer didn't see it. Like I said in my first post, no need to call so much. |

And if you're worried about calling too much ask them first? It's actually what one resume writer suggested to me. Ask them, "Do you mind if I briefly call you once a week for an update?" If they say it's OK, then call weekly but keep it short. If they say not to call then don't. Or call less frequently at least. |

I already have the serial, and they ask for my name and dealer. Pretty quick and painless. I figured examiners weren't answering the phones but that's good to know. |

I'm kind of surprised that everyone is calling so much. I've called them three times over the process for my first Form 4. The first was three weeks after my forms were submitted to see if they had gone pending (they hadn't). The second was in early December (two weeks after that) to verify pending status (yes, they were pending) and then yesterday in late January to get a quick update and make sure there weren't any problems (Form 4 approved). I am NOT a patient man, but I'm working on it.
I don't know if the frequency of calls affects approval, but I did have a laugh with Victoria during the second call because I apologized and said, "I swear to God, I am not going to be one of those people that calls every week to bother you about the status." She started laughing. She didn't say it was good or bad, but at the very least, I imagine that they talk amongst themselves and know who calls in all the time. |

I sent through my first from 1. Haven't bothered to call because it looks like it will take about 35 days to be approved. I figure if after 2 months nothing happens I'll give them a call. I'd prefer that they be reviewing documents and approving stamps rather then answering the phone from people that should know there stamp isn't ready yet. It wastes their time, your time and indirectly my time to get my stamp approved. I understand CS answers the call but wouldn't it be nice if they could have that CS person become an examiner because people stopped calling so much. |

I just call to verify if the check is cashed.
They alert you via mail on the following things: Problem status Denial Approval Also the above things you cannot fix via phone call anyways. No reason to call other then to verify they received your stuff or if it's taking an abnormally long time. Be patient little grasshoppers. |

Well I got the notification the check is cashed from SS so guess I'll just wait. Don't really want to call anyway, won't change anything. |

He's not being rude, it is how people outside of a govt job feel about those who have them. By not working as hard for or approving things because of people who you like less (those that bother you more) you are in fact enforcing the stereotype that some people apply to govmt workers. Tax payers have a right to complain about what they view as an inefficient, sometimes biased, government system. |

I just said that if people bother me a lot, they will get pushed for those who are not trying to bother me. I didn't say people complained and I pushed them to the back......I do my job well so if someone is impatient without merit, I will not make them a priority. Nice people get an advantage. I did not say anything about not getting my job done. If you don't think that polite/nice people have an advantage then I don't know what to say to you. I really do not understand your comment and AI's comment. He made something out of nothing without knowing anything about me or my job. I work in IT and usually resolve most situations within an hour but if people are not nice/pleasant/understanding I'm not going to prioritize their issue over another person that is nice and understanding. Try my job for awhile....there are a lot of people that think IT workers are about as equivalent as garbagemen or custodial staff. I treat everyone the same until they give me a reason not to...... |
