Anybody else getting really tired of items being out of stock on the AAC website? I just received my promo code but I can't buy anything that I need. I bought 2 mounts with my first code but they were out of the install tool so I waited. I just received my second code and was going to buy 2 more mounts and the install tool but they are both out of stock.............really getting old and I'd really like to use my muzzle brake other than a paperweight.

What are you talking about?  You dont need any special install tool to install the muzzle brake.  You just need shims and rockset, both of which are provided with the brake itself.

As of now, most accessories (that I would purchase) are in stock...

That's what happens when you give everyone a $200 credit.  I figure with the Remington possible absorption or whatever is going on with them they might not ever restock anything and they were doing this sale for so long to liquidate inventory.

I already have an AAC flash hider w/ 51t. It was installed with rockset and I have a feeling if I try to pry the existing flash hider off to install the brake, the flash hider ends will bend with the force required to break the rockset.

Am I wrong or is there a good way to get the existing one off and torque the new one on the upper.

They are in stock at Silencer Shop if you need it now.  I'm not sure what I am going to spend my $400 on, how long do we have to use it? End of 2015?

There's a 12/31/15 deadline to have your submission postmarked, but the online form doesn't mention an expiration date on the credit itself. I haven't bought any AAC cans so I haven't see the email they send...maybe it mentions a deadline? I'd say you have all of 2015 at a minimum.

There are wrench flats on the flash hider for a reason. And Rocksett isn't that strong.

Soak the flashider in water for a while.

I'll try but I have an SBR upper and the hand guard comes almost right up unto the teeth of the flash hider. I'd have to find a ridiculously thin wrench and maybe I can get it off....I just didn't want to damage anything else.

The wrench flats on the 51T mount are worthless as they bored further into the mount to let it reflex back over the barrel.  It is almost a guarantee that you will bend the flats before the mount comes off.  This is especially true on a factory installed mount as they tend to WAY over apply the Rockset.

According to AAC when I e-mailed their special tool and a Geissele Reaction Rod are the proper tools needed to remove the 51T mount.

Is it the 9" upper?  If so you have no choice but to use the special tool or get a piece of flat stock and slip in the slots of the flash hider.

Yep. I was worried about placing unequal force on the prongs and one of them bending. I was planning or reusing or selling the extra at some point.

One of my items came back in-stock so hopefully it'll still be for sale when the tool comes back in-stock.

Dang it. The piston I need is back in stock, but the web site cert is bad and checkout isn't secure...

I was lucky and found someone on Arms List that had the Brakeout Flash Hider Tool for $25 shipped. Now I can finally swap my flash hider for the Brakeout 2.0.
