I hope this isn't too much of a stupid question...
How do I track my Form 4? I bought through a local dealer, who sent off all the paperwork and wrote a check from their store. I know I won't know when the check is cashed, but how do I determine the pending date, 2nd pending, approved, and examiner as listed on the http://www.nfatracker.com/ website? Thanks for helping out a noob.. I have the Specwar 762 in jail and will be building a 10.5" SBR similar to the top picture.

There's no such thing as 2nd Pending anymore. Your dealer may give you the info when the check was cashed if you ask.
To get Pending, you just call the NFA branch with your serial number and the Transferee name (your name, the trust/corp name, whatever you used). You'll see Approved date and Examiner when you get your form back. Dealer should notify you when it arrives. |

Another question I can't seem to find the answer to:
I want to register my lower as an SBR. The stripped lower is listed as "5.56mm" but I want to build it as a 300 blackout. Ive read multiple people say it doesn't matter what it is stamped as, you can build it as anything.. My question is: What do I put on the Form 1? Since it is asking all the questions about the lower (manufacturer, model, caliber, etc) it seems it should say 5.56, but that doesn't make any sense because I want to build it as a 300 blackout?! Thanks again! Edit: Nevermind.. I just say BigWaylon posted on a different thread where I asked the same question Thanks BigWaylon, my barrel is marked 300 Blackout so I'm good to go! I will list 300 for the caliber. Thanks again! |
